UCPN (M) forms team to talk to Baidya's party for 'reunion'
The UCPN (Maoist) Wednesday formed a committee to hold talks with Mohan Baidya's breakaway party, CPN-Maoist, over the possibility of reunion.
The talks team headed by Amik Sherchan comprises party spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma and standing committee member Barshaman Pun. A meeting of the party's standing committee held at party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence formed the talks team.
The panel is entrusted with the responsibility to hold formal negotiations to sort out ideological and organizational matters with the aim to reunify the party that split this week.
The UCPN (M) decided to reach out to Baidya two days after the latter announced a new party, accusing the party establishment of compromising party's fundamental ideology and promoting "rightist opportunism". nepalnews.com
